This chickpea burger is the perfect alternative to a traditional burger. Full of plant-based protein and flavor. Plus, chickpeas contain a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. Enjoy this burger with a side of sweet potato fries!


Time: 10 minutes/ Serves: 4



2 tbsp nutiva coconut oil

¼ cup brown rice flour

1 tbsp. Flax meal 

One 14-ounce can chickpeas, drained

2 tsp. Crushed garlic

1 tsp. Sea salt

1 tsp. Onion powder

¼ tsp. cumin seeds

½ tsp. Cumin powder

¼ tsp. Turmeric powder

¼ tsp. Fennel

¼ tsp. Sage

¼ tsp. Rosemary

⅛ tsp. Oregano


Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Mash the beans with the rest of the ingredients. Taste and add more spices or salt to your liking. Divide into 4 equal parts and shape into patties.

Fry the patties until golden, about 4 minutes on each side.
