Food Journal for the Last Week of October; New Holiday Recipes, Immune Boosting Focus

I had the best October and spent the last week of it in Virginia, which is beautiful in the fall. I start every day with my homemade green juice and I made eggs and turkey bacon from Apple Gate a lot this week. Apple Gate products are made with no GMOs, no added chemicals or preservatives, and all the products come from humanely raised animals. I also drank some tea before starting my day and had Traditional Medicinals Ginger Tea, which helps to aid in digestion. Additionally, all of their products are organic and made with organically farmed or organically wild-collected herbs. Before I went out on a walk, I stopped by The Juice Laundry and grabbed a to-go smoothie bowl. I love the Juice Laundry and it is perfect for grab-and-go food. They are entirely plant-based, organic, and locally owned. My favorite is their green smoothie bowl and I change up the toppings each time, but they also have smoothies, oats, toasts, and vegan chili!

I spent so much time baking this week and made some amazing recipes that are perfect for the holidays! After all, the best part of the holiday meals are the desserts! First, I made a new gluten-free Cranberry Bread.  It was so good and I loved adding some Sun Butter, too! I put Sun Butter on so many things and I love it because it is a great alternative to nut butter, organic, non-GMO, protein and nutrient-rich, and free of the top 8 allergens. 

After that, I made a Pecan Pie! It is one of my favorite recipes of the year! AND...it’s vegan, the crust was gluten-free, and it tasted divine!!

I have been drinking Hallstein Water lately and I love it!! It tastes so good and smooth. Hallstien Water is artesian water from Austria that is unfiltered and still meets the highest quality standards.

I brought all the essentials when I played pickleball this week: Bulletproof Immune Gummies, Sun Butter to-go packets, Hollstein Water, and lollipops for a sweet treat after playing. The Bulletproof Gummies are amazing and they provide daily immune support without all the hidden sugars in most gummies. Additionally, these are packed with vitamin C, zinc, elderberry, and echinacea.

I tried a bowl from Food Earth and it was so easy and so flavorful. They have so many options that are all organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, and ready-to-eat meal options. 

We went out to eat at Kanak Indian Kitchen and it was so good! They focus on traditional homemade Indian Food and everything on the menu sounded amazing. They also offer several nut-free and/or vegan options.

As the weather has gotten colder this week, I decided it was the perfect time for a homemade chicken noodle soup using Bonafide Provisions Vegetable Broth and I added in Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. Bonafide is organic, uses no added preservatives, and only uses ingredients that you would find in the average kitchen. Additionally, I like to add apple cider vinegar for the benefits such as weight management, appetite control, and healthy blood sugar and cholesterol level maintenance.

I made a teriyaki salmon using Nutiva's Coconut Secret Organic Teriyaki Sauce. It was so good and I loved using this sauce because it is vegan, MSG-free, non-GMO, gluten-free, low sodium, and organic without losing any of the good flavor!

I am so excited to share this new product from Snow Days! They sent me so many different flavors of pizza bites that are grain-free and organic. I am so excited to try it, winter just got more exciting haha!! Their products are made with simple ingredients that you can trust.

I tried Mikey's at expo east recently for the first time and they were so good that I had to order a bunch to Charlottesville.  They have so many products that are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and paleo friendly. They believe in using high-quality, recognizable ingredients that you can trust. They recreate everyday snacks and meals that can be enjoyed for those with dietary issues or allergens to common ingredients. Additionally, they have so many options and different products.

Cool Beans is another new product that I have just discovered and am so excited to share. They are plant-based frozen wraps. They are perfect for food on the go and come in so many different flavors like Tuscan basil, tiki masala, sesame ginger, and more. AND...they are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, non-GMO, egg-free, and soy-free!

As I mentioned above, I love the Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar and I love all of their products. They sent me their Nutritional Yeast, which is so good! Nutritional Yeast provides a cheesy flavor, without the dairy. It is a perfect addition to salads, pasta, meats, or popcorn.
