Dangerous Chemicals in Foods

Oct 28, 2020

There are many chemicals being added to foods today in order to create a certain taste or keep them low in sugar. These chemicals can be toxic to our bodies and cause long term effects.

What chemicals in food are the most dangerous?

Artificial sweeteners like; aspartame, artificial flavorings, and artificial coloring. Also, sodium nitrates, monosodium glutamate (MSG), hormones, antibiotics, preservatives, and additives.

Can I trust food labels?

Always use your intuition. Many companies are geniuses at marketing and know how to get consumers to buy. If something says “organic” or “natural,” check the ingredients list to see just how natural it really is. Ironically, if a label says “natural flavors,” this means it is not natural. Something that is natural does not need natural flavors added.

Should I read labels?

Yes! Always know what you are eating! If there are ingredients on a label you cannot pronounce, it means they are very far from being naturally provided by Earth. If any ingredients have numbers, it means they were created in a laboratory and can be extremely toxic. Especially if you see any of the following ingredients listed on a label, stay away from that food: DDE, chlorpyrifos-methyl, fenitrothion, pirimiphos-methyl, alpha-endosulfan, beta-endosulfan, endosulfan-sulfate, chlorothalonil, dithiocarbamate, procymidone, vinclozolin, dichlorvos, malathion, and captan.
